Whilst the
violin is a common sight in bluegrass and blues bands in
North America, where it played a major part in the
development of blues music before the guitar surpassed it in
popularity, the blues violin is a much more unusual
instrument in Europe – something Pete is planning to have a
big hand in changing. Pete has become one of the continent's
foremost authorities and teachers of the blues style on the
violin, and in 2005 he released an instructional DVD on the
subject.
As well as playing more conventional country-influenced
blues on the acoustic violin, Pete also uses his Violectra
6-string electric violin (for which he has an endorsement
deal) through guitar amplifiers to create a unique high-gain
distorted modern electric blues, rock or metal sound capable
of sending any guitarist home in shame!
With Pete always on top of the latest technological and
musical developments in the electric violin, you can be sure
that wherever the instrument goes in the future, Pete will
be there!
Petes love of Blues Violin manifested in a unique 10 part
series of lessons that he has recorded and is available to
download in modules from:
